DAILY BREAD — Clinging to the Good, Trembling at His Word ADVICE: Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Romans 12:9 PROMISE: These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at My word. Isaiah 66:2 PRAYER: Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare Your praise. Psalm 51:15 Dear Heavenly Father,
Train my loves so that I truly hate what is evil and cling to what is good. Not a surface rejection, but a deep turning of the heart—away from sin and toward Your holiness. Guard me from subtle compromise, and reform my desires by Your Word, that what You call good I would embrace with steadfast affection. Lord Jesus Christ, Give me the humility that receives Your Word and the contrition that bows beneath it. Keep my heart tender—quick to repent, ready to obey, and eager to grow in grace. Let reverence for Your voice shape my whole life, so that obedience becomes the natural fruit of belonging to You. Holy Spirit, open my lips and order my speech. Let praise rise from a heart that has been searched, cleansed, and renewed. Form my words and my ways into a living testimony of Your sanctifying work, so that others may see and glorify the God who transforms His people. “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.” (Romans 12:9) Amen.
