DAILY BREAD — Seeking First the Kingdom

ADVICE:
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Matthew 6:33a

PROMISE:
They were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:16

​PRAYER:
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek You; I thirst for You, my whole being longs for You, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1

Dear Heavenly Father,
Order my loves so that Your kingdom stands first. Where my priorities drift toward what is immediate and passing, call me back to what is eternal. Train my decisions, habits, and desires to reflect Your reign and Your righteousness, that my life may be rightly aligned under Your lordship.

Lord Jesus Christ,
Fix my hope on the better country You have prepared. Keep me from settling too comfortably in a world that is not my home. Let the promise of Your city shape how I live now—faithful in small things, patient in trials, and joyful in expectation of what is to come.

Holy Spirit,
intensify my hunger for God. In the dryness of this world, draw my soul to seek the living water You provide. Satisfy my deepest longings with Your presence, and teach me to walk daily in communion with the Lord, so that my life becomes a witness to the sufficiency of knowing Him.
