DAILY BREAD — Repentance from Idols, Rest in Mercy ADVICE: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices! Ezekiel 14:6 PROMISE: I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Isaiah 43:25 PRAYER: I am unworthy—how can I reply to You? I put my hand over my mouth. Job 40:4 Dear Heavenly Father,
Search me and expose the subtle idols that compete for my trust—whether pride, fear, comfort, or control. Grant me grace to repent not superficially but thoroughly: to turn from false refuges and return to You with an undivided heart. Reorder my loves so that You are first, and let my life bear the fruit of a true turning. Lord Jesus Christ, Your mercy answers my guilt. You have borne my sin and, for Your own name’s sake, You blot it out and remember it no more. When shame accuses, direct my eyes to Your finished work. Teach me to live as one forgiven—free to obey, eager to love, and secure in Your covenant grace. Holy Spirit, form in me a holy reverence that bows before Your Word. Where I would justify myself, quiet me; where I would despair, steady me with promise. Keep me humble and grateful, and conform my life to the obedience of faith. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10) Amen.
