DAILY BREAD — Humility that Receives God’s Counsel ADVICE: Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another. 1 Peter 5:5 PROMISE: The Lord confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them. Psalm 25:14 PRAYER: Do not let me stray from Your commands. Psalm 119:10 Dear Heavenly Father,
Clothe me with the humility that befits one who stands by grace alone. Strip away pride that seeks recognition and self-importance that hardens the heart. Teach me to take the lower place—quick to listen, slow to speak, ready to serve—so that my life reflects the gentleness and lowliness You commend. Lord Jesus Christ, You are meek and lowly in heart. Draw me into the fellowship of those who fear the Lord, that I may receive Your counsel and know the riches of Your covenant. Let humility open my ears to Your voice and my heart to Your promises, so that knowledge of You becomes deeper and more personal. Holy Spirit, keep me from straying. Watch over my steps, correct me when I wander, and establish me in the path of obedience. Write Your commands upon my heart so that faithfulness becomes my delight and Your truth my constant guide. “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6) Amen.
