DAILY BREAD — The Peace that Marks God’s Children ADVICE: Live in peace with each other. 1 Thessalonians 5:13b PROMISE: Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Matthew 5:9 PRAYER: Scatter the nations who delight in war. Psalm 68:30c Dear Heavenly Father,
Form in me a peaceable spirit that reflects Your own. Where pride rises, humble me; where irritation grows, soften me; where misunderstanding spreads, grant clarity and patience. Let my words be measured by truth and seasoned with grace, so that what I speak builds rather than breaks. Teach me that peace is not avoidance of conflict, but a faithful pursuit of reconciliation grounded in Your righteousness. Lord Jesus Christ, You are our peace, who has broken down the dividing wall of hostility (Eph. 2:14). Shape me into a peacemaker after Your pattern—courageous in truth, gentle in spirit, and steadfast in love. Give me wisdom to address conflict rightly and the willingness to bear cost for the sake of unity. Let my life bear the family likeness of those called children of God. Holy Spirit, overturn what fuels strife—within me and around me. Expose hidden resentments, quiet reactive words, and reorient my heart toward forgiveness. Establish Your peace as a ruling presence within me, so that in every setting I carry something of Your reconciling work into the world. Amen.
