DAILY BREAD — Perseverance unto Maturity

ADVICE:
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:4

PROMISE:
God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, He will give eternal life. Romans 2:6–7

Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10

Dear Heavenly Father,
Train my heart to endure under Your wise providence. Do not let me short-circuit the work You intend through trials. Where I am tempted to quit, grant me steadfastness; where I am impatient, grant me a settled trust that You are completing what You have begun. Let perseverance have its full effect, shaping me into maturity—faith that is steady, hope that is durable, and love that remains.

Lord Jesus Christ,
You walked the path of obedience to the end. Strengthen me to persist in doing good, even when it is hidden or costly. Fix my eyes on the glory You have promised, so that I am not governed by immediate outcomes but by the certainty of Your kingdom. Receive my small acts of faithfulness as offerings of love, and conform them to Your greater purpose.

​Holy Spirit,
bring my will into harmony with the Father’s. Teach me to pray and to live, “Your will be done.” Give me patience that does not grow bitter, courage that does not falter, and a quiet resolve that continues in obedience day by day. Establish my steps so that perseverance becomes a testimony to Your sustaining grace.
