DAILY BREAD — Returning to First Love ADVICE: Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. Revelation 2:5 PROMISE: There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. Luke 15:10 PRAYER: I cry to You, Lord; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.” Psalm 142:5 Dear Heavenly Father,
Bring to mind where my love has cooled and my devotion has drifted. Let true repentance take root—not merely sorrow for sin, but a turning of the heart back to You. Restore the simplicity and sincerity of first love, where trust was clear and obedience was eager. You are my refuge and my portion; apart from You, I have no lasting good. Lord Jesus Christ, You receive sinners with joy and call them back into fellowship. Let the gladness of heaven over repentance shape my own returning. Draw me again to the works of love I once knew—prayer that seeks Your face, obedience that delights in Your will, and faith that rests wholly in Your grace. Holy Spirit, search me and lead me in the path of renewal. Where I have grown distant, bring me near. Where I have become weary or divided, make me whole again. Strengthen my heart to turn quickly and fully, so that my life may once more reflect the joy, peace, and steadfastness found in God alone. Amen.
