DAILY BREAD — Gratitude Along the Straight Path

ADVICE:
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

PROMISE:
In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:6

Praise the Lord, all His heavenly hosts, you His servants who do His will. Psalm 103:21

Dear Heavenly Father,
You call me to gratitude not only when life is pleasant, but in every circumstance. This command anchors my heart beyond shifting conditions and fixes it upon Your unchanging goodness. Teach me thanksgiving that flows from union with Christ—gratitude rooted in redemption, sustained by providence, and aimed toward Your glory. In joy and in trial, train my soul to confess that Your will is wise and faithful.

Lord Jesus Christ,
In all my ways I would acknowledge You. Straighten what is crooked in my thinking, correct what is wandering in my steps, and steady what is uncertain in my heart. Submission to You is not loss but life, not narrowing but freedom. As I entrust each decision to Your lordship, shape my path according to Your saving purposes.

Holy Spirit,
form in me the obedience of worship. As the heavenly hosts delight to do the Father’s will, incline my heart to the same glad service. Let gratitude become the atmosphere of my life and praise its language. Make my days—ordinary and difficult alike—a living doxology to the triune God.
