DAILY BREAD — Truthful Words, Healing Speech

​ADVICE:
Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbour, for we are all members of one body. Ephesians 4:25

PROMISE:
The tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18

​PRAYER:
Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me and teach me Your law. Psalm 119:29

Heavenly Father,
thank You for making all things new.
As another new year begins, help me live each day for You.
Keep me from deceitful ways and shape my heart in truth.
Teach me Your law, and let integrity mark my speech and my steps.
Because we belong to one body,
let my words strengthen, not wound;
heal, not harm.

Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the Truth who makes us free.
Renew my mind and purify my lips,
so that what I speak reflects Your grace and faithfulness.
Give me courage to speak honestly,
and humility to speak gently.

Holy Spirit,
set a guard over my heart,
that my tongue may bring healing.
Place within me a new song of gratitude,
for Your mercies are new every morning,
and nothing ahead will surprise You.
Lead me in truth throughout this year,
that my life may honor You.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
