DAILY BREAD — Putting Away Malice, Walking in Peace ADVICE: Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Ephesians 4:31 PROMISE: Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule—to the Israel of God. Galatians 6:16 PRAYER: Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers. Psalm 141:3 Heavenly Father,
You call me not merely to restrain outward sin, but to put off the inner dispositions that give rise to it. Search my heart and expose bitterness, anger, and hidden malice. Grant me the strength to lay these aside, not by my own effort alone, but by the renewing power of Your grace. Let my life reflect the peace and mercy that flow from belonging to Your covenant people. Lord Jesus Christ, You have borne my sin and broken its dominion. Teach me to put off the old self and to walk in the new life You have secured. Where anger would take root, plant forgiveness. Where harshness would grow, cultivate gentleness. Let Your cross reshape my responses so that I reflect Your patience and love. Holy Spirit, guard my heart from being drawn toward what is evil. Redirect my desires, strengthen my will, and form in me a character that delights in righteousness. Empower me to overcome what once ruled me, so that my life becomes a testimony to Your transforming work. Amen.
