DAILY BREAD — Delighting in the Lord

ADVICE:
Take delight in the Lord. Psalm 37:4a

PROMISE:
…and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4b

Almighty God, I come before You in faith, seeking not merely the fulfillment of my plans, but the joy of knowing You. Teach my heart to delight in You above every lesser gift. Shape my desires so that they are formed by Your Word and refined by Your Spirit.

Lord, when uncertainty rises, anchor me in Your steadfast promises. Let trust in Your character steady my steps and purify my ambitions. May my aspirations flow from communion with You, and may praise be the atmosphere in which I live and work.

As I delight in You, conform my heart to the likeness of Christ, that what I long for aligns with Your will, and that my life becomes a testimony to Your faithfulness.

In Jesus’ precious Name, I pray. Amen.
