DAILY BREAD — Fleeing Sin, Resting in Mercy ADVICE: Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. 2 Timothy 2:22 PROMISE: You will again have compassion on us; You will tread our sins underfoot. Micah 7:19 PRAYER: I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge.” Psalm 91:2 Almighty God, Heavenly Father,
You command not only resistance to sin, but flight from it. Teach me holy vigilance. Where desire entangles, grant swift feet and a steadfast will. Let my fleeing not be aimless, but directed toward righteousness, faith, love, and peace in the fellowship of Your people. Purify my affections so that what I run from grows dim, and what I run toward grows bright. Lord Jesus Christ, You are my refuge and strong tower. When temptation presses close, hide me in Your wounds and steady me in Your obedience. You have borne my guilt and crushed my sin beneath Your feet. Because Your compassion is renewed, I rise again in repentance without despair. Let gratitude for mercy become fuel for holiness. Holy Spirit, guard my heart at its springs. Expose deceitful desires before they mature into action. Strengthen my loves so that obedience is not mere restraint, but joyful allegiance. Anchor my confession deep within me: the Lord is my refuge. In that shelter, form a life that reflects the beauty of redeemed purity. Amen.
