DAILY BREAD — Seeing Christ in the Scriptures ADVICE: You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about Me. John 5:39 PROMISE: Indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:3-5 PRAYER: Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in Your law. Psalm 119:18 Almighty God, Heavenly Father,
I come before You desiring more than information—I seek communion with You through Your Word. Guard me from reading Scripture as a mere exercise of study while missing its living center. Open my eyes to behold the wonders of Your law, and grant that my searching may be earnest, patient, and reverent. Lord Jesus Christ, You are the One to whom all the Scriptures bear witness. From promise to fulfillment, from shadow to substance, they proclaim Your saving work. As I read, unveil Your glory to me. Let my pursuit of understanding lead me not to pride, but to worship; not to abstraction, but to deeper trust in Your finished redemption. Holy Spirit, illuminate the sacred page and incline my heart toward wisdom. Awaken in me a hunger that seeks insight as treasure, and shape in me the fear of the Lord that is clean and enduring. Form my mind by truth and my life by obedience, that knowing God may lead to loving and glorifying Him.
