DAILY BREAD — A Heart Set on Things Above

ADVICE:
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2

PROMISE:
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:2-3

Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. Psalm 73:25

Almighty God, Heavenly Father,
I lift my heart and mind to You, choosing to fix my thoughts on what is eternal rather than what is passing. You are my highest good and my lasting treasure. Guard my affections from being entangled in what fades, and anchor them instead in Your unchanging glory.

Lord Jesus Christ,
You have prepared a place in the Father’s house, and You will come again to receive Your people to Yourself. Root my hope deeply in that promise. Let the certainty of Your return shape how I live today—faithfully, patiently, and with joyful expectation.

Holy Spirit,
train my heart to long for what is above. Form in me an eternal perspective that steadies my steps, tempers my desires, and fills my life with hope. May my thoughts, choices, and relationships reflect the reality that my citizenship is in heaven and my life is hidden with Christ in God.

Amen.
