DAILY BREAD — Obedience, Waiting, and Refuge

ADVICE:
Observe the commands of the LORD your God, walking in obedience to Him and revering Him.
— Deuteronomy 8:6

PROMISE:
For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!
— Isaiah 30:18

​PRAYER:
Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in You I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of Your wings until the disaster has passed.
— Psalm 57:1

Heavenly Father,
Your Word calls me to “observe the commands of the LORD, walking in obedience to Him and revering Him.” Father, give me a heart that delights in obedience and a spirit that reveres Your holiness. Teach me to walk faithfully in Your ways, step by step and day by day. I hold onto Your promise that “the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!” Help me wait for You with trust, patience, and hope.

Lord Jesus Christ,
You are my refuge, my righteousness, and my salvation. When trials come, when fear rises, or when disaster threatens, draw me close to Your side. Strengthen my obedience and deepen my reverence for Your name. Make my life a reflection of Your justice, mercy, and love.

Holy Spirit,
I pray the psalmist’s words: “Have mercy on me, my God… for in You I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of Your wings until the disaster has passed.” Holy Spirit, shelter me under the wings of God’s presence. Calm my spirit, steady my heart, and guide me through every storm. Fill me with courage to obey, patience to wait, and faith to endure.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Be my refuge, my strength, and my guide—today and always.
Amen.
