DAILY BREAD — Walking in the Light ADVICE: Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. — John 12:35 PROMISE: The Lord upholds the righteous. — Psalm 37:17 PRAYER: Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death. — Psalm 13:3 Lord,
On this Christmas Eve, we pause to prepare our hearts for a most beautiful mystery: Your birth and Your coming into the world as our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Clear our minds of distraction and noise, that we may attend to You alone. Turn our attention toward the light You bring and the joy made possible through Your gift of salvation. As Mary once pondered these things with wonder and trust, draw us into that same expectancy and holy anticipation. May our spirits join the angels’ song, crying “Alleluia” with those first messengers of good news who stood amazed before shepherds in the dark fields—news that would one day be heard throughout the world. Let that ancient proclamation become fresh again in us tonight. As the Magi once came bearing gifts, we bring what we have to offer: the surrender of our obedience, the quieting of our restless hearts, and the overflow of worship that rises from gratitude. Receive these offerings, imperfect yet sincere. May this night of preparation be a holy night, as we once again receive and celebrate the immeasurable gift You have given us in Christ. In Your precious name, Amen. I wish you a blessed day and a joyful Christmas celebration. With Love, Rev. Frank
