DAILY BREAD — Trusting Today

ADVICE:
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
— Proverbs 27:1

PROMISE:
Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make known to you my teachings.
— Proverbs 1:23

We acknowledge our wickedness, Lord, and the guilt of our ancestors; we have indeed sinned against you. For the sake of your name do not despise us.
— Jeremiah 14:20–21

Eternal and All-Wise God,
Your Word reminds me, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” Lord, keep me humble before You. Teach me to hold my plans with open hands, trusting not in my own certainty but in Your perfect wisdom. Help me live each day in dependence on Your guidance.

I hold onto Your promise, “Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make known to you my teachings.” Father, give me a repentant heart—one that listens, turns, and responds. As I confess my faults, pour out Your thoughts upon me. Let Your teachings shape my choices, my attitudes, and my life.

And I echo the prophet’s prayer, “We acknowledge our wickedness, LORD… we have indeed sinned against You. For the sake of Your name, do not despise us.” Merciful God, forgive me, cleanse me, and restore me—not because I am worthy, but because Your name is full of grace, compassion, and steadfast love.

Lead me today in humility, repentance, and renewed trust in You.
