DAILY BREAD — Standing in Truth and Trust

ADVICE:
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
— Ephesians 5:6

PROMISE:
I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.
— Isaiah 45:7

Lord my God, I take refuge in you.

Holy and Sovereign God,
Your Word warns me, “Let no one deceive you with empty words.” Lord, guard my heart and mind from lies, confusion, and all that would lead me away from Your truth. Help me discern what is of You and what is not. Teach me to stand firm in obedience, faithfulness, and holiness.

I hold onto Your powerful declaration: “I form the light and create darkness; I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things.” O God, You are sovereign over all things—over the light and the shadow, the calm and the storm. Nothing is beyond Your authority. Remind me that even when life feels uncertain, You are still in control, working out Your purposes with perfect wisdom.

And I pray with the psalmist: “LORD my God, I take refuge in You.” Be my shelter when I am afraid, my fortress when I feel overwhelmed, and my safe place when the world feels unstable. Hold me close, protect me under the shadow of Your wings, and strengthen my trust in Your mighty hand.

In Your truth, I stand.
In Your sovereignty, I rest.
In Your refuge, I am safe.
Amen.
