DAILY BREAD — Do Not Despise the Lord’s Discipline ADVICE: My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke. — Proverbs 3:11 PROMISE: because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. — Proverbs 3:12 PRAYER: Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble. — Psalm 90:15 Gracious and Loving Father,
Your Word reminds me: “My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline or resent His rebuke.” Lord, give me a humble spirit that receives Your correction with trust, not resistance. Teach me to see Your discipline not as punishment, but as Your loving hand shaping my heart and guiding my steps. I hold onto Your promise that “the LORD disciplines those He loves, as a father the son he delights in.” Thank You, Father, that Your discipline is a sign of Your deep love for me. Help me remember that even in hard seasons, You are not abandoning me — You are refining me, strengthening me, and drawing me closer to Your heart. And I pray the words of the psalmist: “Make us glad for as many days as You have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.” Lord, transform my sorrow into joy, and my trials into testimonies. Restore joy in the places where pain has lingered. Let Your comfort outweigh every affliction, and let Your healing redeem every difficult year. In Your mercy, renew my spirit and lead me deeper into Your love. Amen. I wish you a blessed day, With Love, Rev. Frank
