ADVICE:
Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. James 4:9

PROMISE:

DAILY BREAD — Seeking First the Kingdom

ADVICE:
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Matthew 6:33a

PROMISE:
They were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:16

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek You; I thirst for You, my whole being longs for You, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1

DAILY BREAD — Joy Rooted in God’s Salvation

ADVICE:
Rejoice always. 1 Thessalonians 5:16

PROMISE:
Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. Isaiah 35:10

Let the light of Your face shine on us. Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. Psalm 4:6–7

DAILY BREAD — Repentance from Idols, Rest in Mercy

ADVICE:
Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices! Ezekiel 14:6

PROMISE:
I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Isaiah 43:25

Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another. 1 Peter 5:5

The Lord confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them. Psalm 25:14
