DAILY BREAD — The Good Fight and the Sure Inheritance

ADVICE:
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called. 1 Timothy 6:12

PROMISE:
No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. Isaiah 54:17

Sustain me, my God, according to Your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed. Psalm 119:116

Dear Heavenly Father,
Strengthen me for the conflict that belongs to faith. Keep me from imagining the Christian life as ease; it is a striving against sin, a resisting of the world, and a clinging to Your promises. Yet let me fight as one already called and secured, taking hold of the life You have given. Fix my grip on what is eternal, so that present trials do not loosen my hold on Christ.

Lord Jesus Christ,
You are both the ground and the goal of this fight. Guard me from fear when opposition rises, and from pride when I am vindicated. Teach me to entrust my name and my cause to You. Let me answer accusation not with self-defense alone, but with a life shaped by truth and integrity. In You, every false word is ultimately silenced, and every promise finds its yes.

Holy Spirit,
sustain me inwardly when strength falters. Make Your promises living realities within me, so that hope is not a fragile feeling but a steady anchor. Preserve me in the midst of trial, keeping my faith from collapse. Let endurance itself become evidence of Your preserving grace at work.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness…” (2 Timothy 4:7–8)
