DAILY BREAD — Honest Confession, Faithful Cleansing ADVICE: Only acknowledge your guilt—you have rebelled against the Lord your God. Jeremiah 3:13 PROMISE: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 PRAYER: For I know my transgressions… Against You, You only, have I sinned. Psalm 51:3–4 Dear Heavenly Father,
Bring me into plain honesty before You. Strip away the instinct to excuse, minimize, or compare. Let confession be specific and unguarded, naming sin as rebellion against Your holy will. Grant a contrite heart that agrees with Your judgment and turns without delay. Lord Jesus Christ, You have borne the guilt I confess. Because of Your once-for-all sacrifice, forgiveness is not uncertain but secured—just as well as merciful. Wash me clean and restore what sin has disordered. Let grace not only acquit but renew, so that I walk in newness of life as one reconciled to God. Holy Spirit, press the truth home until repentance is deep and real. Keep me from a passing sorrow that leaves the will unchanged. Create in me a clean heart, and establish steadfastness in obedience. Guard me in the light, where confession continues and cleansing abides. “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13) Amen.
