DAILY BREAD — The Low Place Before God ADVICE: Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. 1 Peter 5:6 PROMISE: For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled. Luke 14:11 PRAYER: May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause; but I will meditate on Your precepts. Psalm 119:78 Dear Heavenly Father,
Bring my heart willingly into the low place beneath Your mighty hand. Not a forced humility that resents Your providence, but a settled trust that receives Your ordering of my life as good. Guard me from the subtle desire to be seen, to be justified, or to secure my own standing. Teach me to rest in Your timing, knowing that You alone lift up and bring low according to Your wisdom. Lord Jesus Christ, You did not grasp at honor but humbled Yourself even to the cross (Philippians 2:8). Form that same mind in me. When I am tempted to defend myself or seek recognition, turn my eyes to Your obedience. Let my life be hidden with You, content in quiet faithfulness rather than visible approval. In You, humiliation is not loss but the path to true exaltation. Holy Spirit, steady me when I am wronged. Keep me from answering pride with pride. Anchor me in the Word so that meditation replaces reaction, and truth governs my response. Let righteousness belong to the Lord, and let my calling be to remain faithful. “He has shown you, O man, what is good… to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8) Amen.
