DAILY BREAD — Prayer Instead of Anxiety ADVICE: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 PROMISE: And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 PRAYER: May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14 Dear Heavenly Father,
When anxiety rises, turn me decisively toward You. Keep me from rehearsing fears in isolation; train me to translate every concern into prayer. Let thanksgiving accompany my petitions, so that memory of Your past faithfulness reshapes my present fears. Teach me that prayer is not an afterthought but the appointed means by which my heart is steadied under Your sovereign care. Lord Jesus Christ, You are the ground of the peace You promise. Guard my heart and mind—not by removing every uncertainty, but by fixing me in Yourself. When thoughts multiply and unsettle me, bring them into Your presence and subject them to Your truth. Let Your peace stand as a watch over my inner life, preserving me from being ruled by fear. Holy Spirit, order my inward world so that even my unspoken meditations come under Your sanctifying work. Refine my thoughts, govern my words, and align my desires with what is pleasing to God. Where anxiety once dominated, establish a pattern of prayer, trust, and quiet confidence in the Lord my Rock and my Redeemer. “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) Amen.
