DAILY BREAD — Hope Set on the Coming of Christ

ADVICE:
Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at His coming. 1 Peter 1:13

PROMISE:
Christ will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. Hebrews 9:28

Come, Lord Jesus. Revelation 22:20

Dear Heavenly Father,
Discipline my mind for watchful hope. Deliver me from distraction and spiritual drowsiness. Gather my thoughts under Your Word so that my hope is not scattered among passing things but fixed wholly on the grace to be revealed. Let the certainty of Christ’s return order my choices, steady my affections, and purify my life.

Lord Jesus Christ,
You have borne sin once for all, and You will come again to complete the salvation You have secured. Teach me to wait as one who belongs to You—faithful in duty, patient in trial, and expectant in joy. Let Your promised appearing be the horizon that governs my present steps.

Holy Spirit,
keep the church’s ancient cry alive within me: “Come, Lord Jesus.” Sustain my faith when it grows weary, and align my life with the coming kingdom. Form in me a readiness that is not anxious but confident, resting in the faithfulness of God.

“For the grace of God has appeared… training us… to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives… waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2:11–13)
