Paul and his wife, Sharon, have been married for 34 years and have 3 children, 2 sons-in-law and 3 grandchildren. Paul and Sharon served as Youth Pastors in 3 different churches for approximately 10 years and he and his wife have been Foster Parents of babies and toddlers for 20 years. After Youth Pastoring, Paul worked in custody/ residential programs for at-risk youth for approximately 8 years. In 2008, he was hired on as a Police Constable with the Waterloo Regional Police Service and has worked as a Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer and Community Resource Officer. He is presently a Detective Constable with the Special Victims Unit and investigates child abuse.
