February 1, 2012

I am getting excited about this weekend to come to church on both Saturday and Sunday.

Church? Excited? Really!?

Yes!

On Saturday, February 4 at 7:30 PM, Heather Chappell and Vince Peets are going to give a concert featuring Heather’s own brand of introspective folk/roots music. Her songs are lyrically deep, emotional and intimate. Often they call to mind the sweetness of a familiar Celtic ballad or the hush of a sacred Sunday hymn.  Vince’s guitar playing adds so much depth and beauty to the songs. There is also a playfulness and joy that shines through in what they do.

Heather grew up in our congregation, with her family.

At the Saturday concert, there is a free will offering (with a suggestion of 20 dollars per person). All donations of twenty dollars or more will be tax receipted and go to support the music program of Calvin Church.

Then, on Sunday morning, 10:15 AM, we share in the gift of worship. Heather and Vince will share their gift of music throughout the service. We will join together to remember God’s gracious love revealed on the last supper that Jesus had with his disciples through the sacrament of communion. I am preaching on the gift of Psalms in our life, and will be focusing on Psalm 147:1-11.

It’s going to be a great weekend of song and praises to God.

Come! Join us. You are invited to be part of this wonderful weekend at Calvin Church.

Blessings.

Mark
